QA Analyst/Tester

In this role you will working as part of a product development team. You must be comfortable working in a team-based agile environment.

The primary responsibility is user acceptance testing (UAT), which include the following tasks:

  • Verify user stories meet acceptance criteria.
  • Execute test cases to test functionality of internally developed software
  • Capture test results and report to development lead.

JOB DUTIES:

  • The individual will be responsible for all aspects of testing and Quality Assurance through the full life cycle from requirements gathering through implementation.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, Story grooming sessions, with the team to ensure the Acceptance Criteria are clear, complete, and testable.
  • Test each User Story to verify the Acceptance Criteria are met and the end-to-end user experience is consistent throughout.
  • Assist with assessment of the downstream impacts of changes to the system to identify the necessary scope of regression testing and testing that should be performed by interfacing applications.
  • Review defects identified by end users, working with the end user to identify the steps to recreate the bug.
  • Logging defects, testing/retesting defects, tracking progress and results and reporting status to the project lead
  • Help identify workflows which would benefit from having a Test Automation engineer script a test.

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

  • Proficient in English and related technical writing for communicating plans and results; MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to work and communicate well with others.
  • Able to produce and exercise rigorous test procedures and recognize errors.
  • Strong ownership and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently as required.
  • Work successfully in a cross-functional team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as organization and document skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to acquire an in depth understanding of complicated business processes from the end users perspective, as well as from a data quality perspective.
  • Strong communication skills are required to communicate with team members, other Office of Information Technology resources, stakeholders, and end users.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile to help the team deliver.
  • Minimum 2 years of Agile/JIRA related experience or equivalent
  • Knowledge of one or more VZ systems: Vision, VIP, ThingSpace, M2M OC, M2M MC

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.
