Safety Engineer HAZOP, HAZIDs, Marine - Defence
Location: Glasgow - commutable from Kilmarnock, Paisley, Greenock, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Edinburgh
Duration: 6 months
Rate: £42.35 per hour
Clearance: BPSS Clearance (must be willing and eligible to undergo, prior to project start date)

*Due to the secure nature of our client's project, the successful candidate must either hold valid or be willing to undergo BPSS Clearance prior to the commencement of the project*
My client, a global Defence organisation, is currently looking for a Safety Engineer to assist with Product safety activities. The successful Safety Engineer will have demonstrable experience within the Defence industry and will ideally have worked within large organisations. The role of Safety Engineer will require strong Hazard and Operability( HAZOP ) experience, previous experience of Hazard Identification ( HAZIDs) and. Marine experience. Candidates applying for the role of Safety Engineer must also have strong have prior working knowledge of Safety Risk Management, and ideally have experience within Naval ships
Essential skills;
- Proven background as a Safety Engineer (ideally from a background in the Defence industry)
- Previous experience of Marine
- Demonstrable experience of HAZIDs
- Extensive experience of HAZOP
- Significant experience with Safety Assessments
- Substantial experience of FMEA
Desirable;
- Previous experience within the Defence industry would be a distinct advantage
- Experience of writing Safety Case Reports is highly desirable
