Financial Controller

End date - 31st December (4 months)
Location: Aston - with some travel to Swindon
The Finance Team:
The successful candidate will be part of a team of c30 finance professionals supporting the Infrastructure Services business across the UK.
The Role:
The programme in question is one of Infrastructure's largest deals with a budget of circa £20m. It is a genuine "cross discipline" programme and involves a wide variety of stakeholders (eg Consulting Services, Applications Development). Furthermore, the projects business on the programme is expanding rapidly.
Reporting to the Cloud Infrastructure Financial Services Cluster Controller, the role of the Account Financial Controller is to:
- Manage and complete the month-end close process (actuals and forecast) for all projects, liaising with both PMO and Account Managers, as well as Financial Controllers from other business units.
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
- Help prepare and present the month end reporting pack.
- Drive improvements and efficiencies in the current accounting and Back Office process.
- Manage invoicing and accounts receivable process within the Account.
- Liaise with third party suppliers and clients on an ad hoc basis.
The role is based in the West Midlands with a requirement to be on site in Swindon at least once a week.
Professional Experience and Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant or equivalent via experience.
- Expert proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Background in outsourced IT services or similar environments, preferably with project accounting experience.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, must be credible with senior management.
- Able to prioritise and organise own work, to deliver to agreed deadlines.
- Strong intellect with good academic record.
