My client is a household retailer, and we are currently recruiting on their behalf for a Finance Business Partner to support their General Merchandise division
The role will act as the primary expert and interface into Finance and providing insight, challenge and strategic support to the business. The role will help drive the business forward by leveraging my financial and commercial expertise and understanding.
Responsibilities
- Pro-actively support and drive strategic initiatives
- Drive and support business cases (eg capital, new range, new suppliers, etc)
- Overlay commercial acumen on analysis performed by FP&A teams to drive insights and decision support.
- Constructively challenge and recommend changes to the business underpinned by sound financial expertise.
- Review, adjust and communicate strategic and operational plans to the relevant commercial and operations teams.
- Lead business/operational plan reviews to ensure plan reflect business reality, & appraises current performance.
- Help create choices and provide decision support to close performance gaps
- Support working capital reduction programs
- Support and drive supplier insight and initiatives
- Building strong relationships across all Finance and Divisional teams
Skills and Experience Required
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experienced Business Partner
- Experience of Project Accounting
- Experience of looking at complex financial data, drawing conclusions and offering sound commercial advice
- Experience of working in a business similar to Retail
