Description

Job Description:

  • Work with Business Analysts and Project Managers to understand business requirements and translate these to high level designs, detailed technical specifications and solution designs.
  • Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to conduct the analysis needed to support solution definition.
  • Provision of design documentation for all solutions, ensuring the solutions support architecture roadmaps, standards and principles.
  • Be able to communicate your vision and designs to others by producing documented designs/proposals and present your solution and its benefits.
  • Management and maintenance of design and solution documentation.
  • Analyse problems and structure solutions for complex technology changes.
  • Work across a wide range of solutions which include: off-the-shelf applications, existing customer systems, integration systems, data processing, web technologies and others.
  • Engage collaboratively with all key stakeholders throughout all phases of the project.
  • Support the handover of all solutions to Information Systems (IS) Operations, ensuring appropriate documentation such as work instructions and run books are included.
  • Promote and champion best practices in terms of solution design, ensuring consideration of strategic roadmaps and strategy's.
  • Contribute to IT strategy, architecture management, governance, and technology evaluations.
  • Assist in establishing financial transparency of all solutions, considering key costs such as software licensing and hardware specifications.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Successful candidate to have 10+ years technology experience, with a proven track record in the delivery of IT enabled change.
  • Proven solution architecture, design, and implementation experience with large scale projects.
  • Extensive experience of Microsoft and Oracle technologies.
  • A broad understanding of application, information and infrastructure technologies using industry best practices.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to communicate technical issues and strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences. Backed-up with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Masters in Computer Systems or Software Engineering or related technical discipline.

Desirable

  • Architecture Certification and Accreditation (TOGAF, IASA, ITIL, etc.)
  • Experience in the utility sector
