Description

• Plan and coordinate with the project managers and release managers or any other stakeholders of other projectstoensure that the project has the right applications and versions in the test environment for each test cycle – this may include organising and running technical workshops
• Coordinate delivery of the test environment with the required components and versions for all layers of infrastructure. The layers may include hardware, network, operating system, firewalls and application layers
• Coordinate and arrange with the relevant third parties the refresh and restore of the test environments in line with project plans
• Guarantee the environment/sare up to date with respect to Kernel, DB, OS, application Patches and updates
• Confirm that the test environment is set-up correctly
• Ensure that the configuration and set-up of the environment is clear to all stakeholders and that any deviations from production are called out
• Hand-over from environment to environment – coordinate the move from one test environment to the next and the move into production
• Operational Readiness – ensure that the project follows the required process to release the project into production. Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks
• Coordinate and notify the relevant third parties of any requirements around backup/ restore planning, capacity planning and storage management and patching
• Produce and submit costing and environment delivery effort estimates with inputs from relevant and appropriate third parties as required
• Maintain Environments contacts list
Knowledge and Experience
• Extensive experience in the following;
o Build process
o Release process
o Continuous Integration
• Experience in the following would be an advantage
o Jenkins/Hudson/Bamboo experience
o Nexus
o Branching and merge strategies
• Experience using version control systems; experience with Git preferred
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; sound organizational, negotiating and decision making skills
• Ability and drive to learn new technologies, tools, and processes
• Ability to work independently or as a part of an inter-disciplinary team
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken, Excellent verbal and written communication skill
