Description

The Athena consortium comprises of nine forces working together to deliver a ground breaking operational IT system.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to undertake the role of Athena Service Delivery Executive. This role is a strategic and challenging role that requires the successful candidate to manage the operational delivery of Athena services; participate fully in the design and delivery of Athena business planning, strategic initiatives and policies, ensuring the alignment of work and high quality services that support operational policing and business requirements.
The post has responsibility for the Athena Management Organisation with a mixed team of both officers and staff seconded from the nine contracted Athena Forces.
You will be engaged in numerous challenges and decisions regarding the appropriate financial management of the Programme including, any procurement decisions, changes to the current Athena framework agreement, Change Control Notices and on-going funding of the Athena Management Organisation.
The post holder will also provide high level technical advice and influence central planning processes, participating in strategic decision making forums, Project Boards, Working Groups and Committees,
The successful candidate will require a high level of intellect and the ability to provide effective strategic direction, leadership and co- ordination for multi-faceted, IT services activity. He/she will need to have an extensive background and experience of managing a range of information systems technology and have demonstrable experience of establishing coherent links between IT strategies and organisational business strategies, plans and priorities.
Possession of a post graduate diploma, plus further specialist qualification in Information Technology, or equivalent experience with at least 10 years of IT Service Delivery & Change Management. A qualification in ITIL Service Management (v3) to Intermediate or Expert level is highly desirable.
The post holder will have a broad knowledge and understanding of application and infrastructure development. A detailed knowledge and understanding of IT service delivery, methods and techniques for risk management, business impact analysis, countermeasures and contingency arrangements relating to the disruption of IT services, is essential.
The role will necessitate travel around the Athena Forces and beyond, but much of the post-holder's time will be spent at Chelmsford, Essex, where the Athena Management Office and many key stakeholders are based.
The role will be offered on a 2 year fixed term contract basis.
