Description

The Senior Supply Chain Sourcing Manager is responsible for ensuring that the client achieves best value from its external expenditure on goods and services (across multiple categories) whilst effectively managing risk and utilises their skills and experience to deliver the organisations challenging project timelines and cost savings targets.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Exceptional procurement-related skill set (including sourcing, supplier management principles, supply market analysis and contract negotiation).
  • Leading and driving major strategic sourcing projects of £10-£20m+ annual contract value;
  • Experience of delivering material outsource relationships (as defined by SYSC8)
  • Must be capable of leading detailed contract negotiations with limit legal support and where necessary providing challenging direction.
  • Excellent understanding of the business environment in which the Bank operates and of industry best practice.
  • Degree qualified and/or with suitable professional qualification (eg CIPS)
  • Exceptional communicating, negotiating and influencing skills with the resilience and ability to operate at an executive level
  • Experience of working in the Financial Services sector is desirable
  • Experience in leading multi-functional cross business teams
  • Ability to review and analyse key external trends and influences to ensure that a wide range of information is used to support the development of category strategies in line with the planned overall business direction.
  • Experience of complex negotiations and ability to demonstrate strong negotiations skills.
  • Build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders and key suppliers
  • Strong awareness and preferably experience of the control environment within a financial services organisation.
  • Strong awareness and understanding core due diligence policy areas (eg InfoSec, BCM, Financial Health and Conduct Risk) in order to engage constructively with and challenge policy owners.
  • At least seven years' experience in procurement/sourcing role is preferred. Applicable experience in wider supply chain management roles would also deemed desirable.
  • Track record in mentoring and developing more junior members of the Supply Chain Sourcing team.
  • Gives constructive feedback in order to identify individual's development needs
