Description

Group Reporting Accountant (ACCA/AAT) required for maternity cover with leading organisation based in Bedfordshire.

Responsibilities include:

External reporting

  • Deliver a best-in-class, high quality external reporting - including interim and annual accounts (IFRS), subsidiary statutory accounts (UK GAAP, FRS101) and other presentations as needed.
  • Help manage the external relationships with advisors such as the auditors.
  • Accounting for more complex areas such as hedge accounting, share-based payments and pensions.

Internal reporting

  • Good understanding of consolidation systems and processes
  • Provide analytical support to the Group Reporting Manager and the corporate team and provide real value through the provision of quality, timely and accurate information, highlighting issues and trends.
  • Develop good relationships with the business units to understand their systems, processes and business issues and to challenge the information they report to the Group.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as required.

Compliance with accounting standards

  • Monitor proposed changes to accounting standards, assess impact on group and communicate/action/train as necessary. Particular focus will be required in respect of FRS101, IFRS15, IFRS16.
  • Experience
  • Graduate calibre, qualified accountant with a substantial experience and a progressive record of success.
  • Solid Consolidation experience
  • Background in technical accounting (revenue recognition, pensions, goodwill, treasury instruments etc), including IFRS and UK GAAP and listing requirements.
  • Must have strong Excel skills. Familiarity with Hyperion/Smart View would be useful.
