The Role Description
The Customer Account Engineer (CAE) is responsible for supporting the Customer Account Manager (CAM) by developing detailed information on customers' business landscapes including procurement plans, technical and commercial project plans, capital plans and key stakeholder identification and analysis. The CAE is responsible for ensuring that the information is captured in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to be utilised for business growth capture and orders entered.
Working from the Preston site, there is an expectation that the CAE will be available to travel to customer locations, primarily in the UK, however there may be limited international travel.
Main Responsibilities
Maintain awareness of customer technical and commercial activities for assigned customers to identify leads, progress opportunities and capture orders entered
Support the CAM in strategy development, market analysis, account planning and capture planning processes
Maintain a sound understanding of company products and services. Develop strong relationships with the Product Line technical representatives to support business development applicable to assigned customers
Maintain accuracy and currency of data in CRM, produce and analyse reports from CRM to ensure appropriate focus of resources for business capture in line with strategic growth needs
Support the CAM in building and maintaining strong customer relationships through effective and productive communications with applicable customer contacts ensuring customer satisfaction is maintained
Support the CAM in managing commercial and financial activities (including oversight of marketing initiatives, pricing, contract terms, expenditures, orders entered, sales and margin, forecasting of sales and opportunities, commercial settlements and bid/no bid decisions) for assigned customers
Support the CAM in development of bids, commercial offers and contract negotiations
Essential/Desirable Skills
Proven ability to develop productive relationships with customer and internal stakeholders
Proven ability working to deadlines under time pressure
Broad knowledge of the nuclear industry with a focus on decommissioning, demolition, remediation and waste management
Business acumen with knowledge of business, financial and project management tools
Ability to work flexibly
Ability to travel, primarily in the UK with limited international locations
