Operational Risk Manager/Specialist required by a Global Insurance, Pensions and Risk Management firm.
You will need to be a management level expert in operational risk, able to shape the final scope and deliverables of the assignment and to provide opinions on best practice in the arena of operational risk and controls, including assessment of the strength of controls in place and recommendations on strengthening controls. Ideally you will have experience gained in a pensions environment, however other financial services experience will be considered (insurance claims is very similar). You must be an individual with a high level of credibility who is able to positively influence at a senior management level and to key clients. Experience of managing others, with the ability to provide clear direction and guidance to the Analyst level and quality assurance of their work. You must have demonstrable experience of implementing operational risk frameworks/control documentation and assessment in practice (not only at a theoretical or strategic level). The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate 'hands-on' experience of similar assignments. Comfortable working with and communicating to all levels of staff, able to explain complex concepts clearly to Administrators. You must also be able to demonstrate the ability to work to tight deadlines and excellent planning with a 'delivery focus'. This contract offers an immediate start to the right applicant, they want someone on-board before the end of September. Applicants who live within a reasonable daily commute of the client's offices in the centre of Reigate are preferred.
