Communication Campaigns Officer

A fantastic job opportunity has arisen for Communication Campaigns Officer to join one of our largest Local Authority clients in a temporary assignment for Six months initially (with every possibility of an extension should the successful candidate perform well).

Based in South East London, this is a full time role (36 hours per week, Monday to Friday).

The purpose of the role:

To plan, implement, monitor and evaluate best in class campaigns for the council, including behavioural change campaigns, corporate marketing, partnership and public affairs campaigns.

To implement integrate campaign plans that inform, change behaviour, engage and improve perceptions of the borough and the council, ensuring evaluation is built in.

To work effectively across the communications and campaigns team to ensure campaigns employ the correct mix of channels to achieve optimum traction with target audiences.

*To develop campaigns which support the council's overall communication strategy, making sure that all campaigns and events are well planned, professionally carried out to the highest standard and properly evaluated, so that impact and customer satisfaction can be evaluated.

*To provide expert advice to council officers, cabinet members, partners and other stakeholders on a range of campaign issues, as appropriate on the most suitable marketing or events techniques and methods to reach their target audiences and achieve their service objectives.

*To contribute to the annual campaigns plan

*Commission print, design, photography and branded merchandise in compliance with council procurement policies and existing OJEU tender contracts. Manage the turn-around of a high volume of projects, ensuring all projects are fully planned, costed, scheduled and that progress is monitored.

*Identify and maximise opportunities for imaginative campaigns and events with a wide range of stakeholders, which support reputation management and promote council services and initiatives.

*Actively promote good practice across the council by working with other communications colleagues to ensure that all marketing and promotional materials follow brand, corporate writing style and Plain English writing guidelines.

*Manage and coordinate, or support as appropriate, a range of internal and external events which form part of communication plans, ensuring that all campaigns and events are well planned, professionally carried out to the highest standard and properly evaluated, so that impact and customer satisfaction can be evaluated.

*Ensure that all relationships with external suppliers of services are effectively managed, including ensuring value for money and good practice and that good financial practice is adhered to at all times

*Keep up to date with professional best practice through networking, attending events, following trade media.
