Job Title: Finance Manager - UK Property Services Control

Location: Welwyn Garden City

Duration: 3 to 6 months

Introduction

Working within the UK Financial Control team and cross functionally within the Group Capital team, the successful applicant will be part of a well-established and respected team within the company, responsible for ensuring robust financial controls are operated whilst Property Services strategy is delivered. The Finance Manager's key responsibilities are to deliver accurate, timely and insightful reporting and control and collaboratively challenge strategic business priorities. Working within our Group Capital team, the successful applicant will be responsible for the financial control of one of the largest maintenance and facilities management companies in the UK. They will also be collectively responsible for the energy financial control of one of the largest commercial property portfolios in the UK. The successful applicant will support both Maintenance and Energy using a varied suite of finance systems to improve accounting and reporting to the wider business.

Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure robust financial controls around operating expenses and capital expenditure are operated whilst Property Services strategy is delivered
  • Deliver accurate, timely and insightful reporting to UK Control and to Maintenance and Energy business stakeholders
  • Critical review and appraisal of investment committee proposals to guide business decisions
  • Resolve potential accounting & control issues through thorough review of periodic accounts
  • Reviewing the balance sheet periodically to ensure all entries are valid
  • Coordinating the Half year/Year end external audit programme of work and working with Internal and External Auditors to close down issues
  • Statutory financial compliance including;
    • Central point of contact for internal/external auditors
    • Preparing year end schedules and supporting in auditor queries
    • Preparing the statutory accounts for our company Maintenance Limited
  • Build on the existing live maintenance budgeting model taking into account changes within the organisation
  • Supporting the finance team in Bengaluru with general accounting and transactional processing guidance

Qualifications Required

  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA

Candidate profile

Technical

  • An understanding of UK statutory reporting requirements
  • Degree level education ideally with a financial background.
  • Professional accounting qualification is essential.
  • Analytical mindset - critically appraise business proposals.
  • Strong management reporting skills.
  • Technical accounting knowledge
  • Attention to detail, ability to identify solutions and their potential impacts.
  • Good Excel skills and experience of modelling an advantage.
  • Good system skills (SUN, Oracle and Hyperion).

  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • Proven skills to develop stakeholder working relationships.
