We are urgently looking for one "PeopleSoft Technical Lead" to start ASAP a 80-w/days contract in ROME (UN agency client, EN-speaking environment).

The initial contract is about approx. 80 w/days contract, extensions are possible.

Background

Our client is undergoing an organisational change process, moving to a decentralised model of operations. Currently, the majority of the transaction processing takes place in Rome HQ, though there are over 40 field offices around the world. The organization has embarked on a process of decentralising its delivery model. As a consequence more operational autonomy will be given to its regional offices. In certain cases more administrative autonomy will be required to support this changing business model for the purposes of supporting Decentralisation and Delegation of Authority.

The objective of the project is to make sure that the technology platform of PeopleSoft is up to date and fit for purpose by leveraging the latest supported application release (PeopleSoft 9.2) in order to be in a position to better support the new decentralised model of the client both for HR and FIN for the all of the environments (DEV, UAT, SBX, SUP, TRN, DMO, Production and Disaster Recovery). The hosting of the Application environment and all supporting technologies is with an external organization.

TASKS

  • Review the full technical scope of the project and provide inputs and information to the project manager for project and resource planning as well as risk analysis
  • Build a details technical plan for all tasks and stages of the project, to share with the PM
  • As required, lead the technical team through each of the task stages ensuring that adequate resources are assigned to each task, sufficient progress is made and that any issues are quickly identified and resolved
  • Carry out all technical tasks associated with performing an application upgrade
  • Prepare all related technical documentation including, but not limited to, code changes, object customisations, technical configuration changes, script updates
  • Ensure that all client customisations are applied based on the recommendations of the functional consultant
  • Identify any opportunities for client to easily retire customizations or gain additional functionality through the project
  • Ensure that all applied customisations are working as expected through thorough unit testing and business sign-off
  • Thoroughly test each environment, in HCM or FIN, to ensure that no functionality is negatively impacted, including integrations with external systems
  • Support the effort to build functional test scripts
  • Support the business in Regression testing
  • Resolve all issues caused by any changes made by the upgrade process
  • Prepare technical documentation to highlight the new technical features and enhancements introduced by any technical changes made
  • Support the client Change Management team to identify and effect any changes/new requirements for user guidance resources
  • Other tasks as required.

Post go-live the resource will assist the existing PeopleSoft support team, including the following tasks:

  • provide technical support to client'S ERP systems including issue resolution, data-fixing, bugs fixing, application changes and enhancements
  • manage change requests for client's ERP systems, including the evaluation, execution, testing, verification, acceptance and deployment of the requested solution
  • resolve system configuration and performance proble

SKILLS

  • University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline with at least eight years of professional work experience in the implementation and support of corporate applications including ERP.
  • Experience in the implementation and support of large Oracle PeopleSoft projects, including HCM and Financials, 9.X
  • Experience in the implementation and support of ERP Finance and HR modules, preferably using the PeopleSoft platform.
  • Knowledge of Application Release 9.2 (implementation, support, upgrade), in particular with the new functionality enhancements introduced by the new release, including the Fluid Interface, Mobile technology and the technical features available with PeopleTools 8.56
  • Demonstrable experience of technical upgrades to PeopleSoft Application
  • At least 8 years of proven professional experience as a PeopleSoft technical expert
  • At least 8 years of experience with People Code, including application packages
  • At least 8 years of experience with PeopleSoft Integration Tools including integration broker implementing web services (including integrations external to PeopleSoft), component interfaces, File Layouts etc
  • Strong experience with PeopleSoft reporting tools including SQR, Query, BI Publisher and Nvision
  • Experience with Cobol, specifically with regards to the Payroll process for the HCM Consultant
  • At least 8 years of Experience with SQL on Oracle database
  • Experience of providing user support

Furthermore, the incumbent should have some functional knowledge in the relevant modules used by client in both HCM and Financials, as this will be important for their ability to unit test.

    Our client is undergoing an organisational change process, moving to a decentralised model of operations. In order to effectively support this in terms of scalability, security, stability and usability to support a world-wide operational model the Information and Communications Technology division needs to deploy the latest available features, including security and enhanced functionality, of the ERP System in order to be fit for purpose and meet the challenge of catering for a geographically dispersed administrative operation.

    The objective of the project is to make sure that the technology platform of PeopleSoft is up to date and fit for purpose by leveraging the latest supported application release (PeopleSoft 9.2) in order to be in a position to better support the new decentralised model of client both for HR and FIN for the all of the environments (DEV, UAT, SBX, SUP, TRN, DMO, Production and Disaster Recovery). The hosting of the Application environment and all supporting technologies is with an external organization.

    Technical Context

    PeopleSoft (HCM and FIN) is a fundamental component of the Application infrastructure and the current application version is 9.1 with PeopleTools 8.56 in both Financials and HCM. Client is running the following modules in HCM and Financials:
