Description
The role of the Senior Communications Manager is to develop and deliver the required communications and engagement activity to successfully complete the specific programme objectives for Finance transformation. This will include the opportunity to take a lead role and co-ordination of specific elements within the programme. Finance/Digital transformation with experience of operating model/analytics is essential.
Responsible for comms planning and delivery of comms and engagement activities, reporting progress against plan and managing risks and issues, in partnership with fellow Change, Comms and HR worksteam members.
Ensure that the centrally defined communications and engagement approach is applied appropriately across the programme and there is alignment of messaging, approach and timing.
Collaborate to ensure an integrated change, comms, HR and culture programme plan at a global, regional and BU/function level
Create comms solutions to help manage change impact, risks and issues
Provide coaching and support to leadership
Provide audience insights and analysis
Use story telling to support transformation journey and illustrate key proof points
Education/Experience
The role requires the ability to work effectively in a complex Matrix structure and with complex information. A strong ability to synthesize facts into an overall picture and identify gaps will facilitate success. Ability to influence and communicate with senior stakeholders is essential.
Experienced communications professional with proven ability to manage complex and large scale transformational change communications and engagement.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English
Solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process
Excellent active listening skills and knowledge of effective listening tools and techniques
Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships

Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project life cycle
Experience of digital communications would be an advantage
Experience within GSK and of Finance operations would be an advantage
