UK Market Research Manager - Brentwood, Stockley Park - Negotiable - 6 months

Job Purpose:

To deliver market research based insight to shape brand strategy and drive execution. Aligned to HIV Therapy Area, but also offering cross-portfolio support for other UK/Ireland pharma projects, as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing market research support and expertise, working with business partners and selected individuals in the brand teams to drive customer and market understanding for the UK/Ireland LOCs

Managing GSK interactions with market research agencies and other similar external partners

Advising and developing market research plans and budgets for aligned therapy areas, taking responsibility for the procurement of the best value market research solutions

Ensuring all research is conducted in accordance with the latest ethical standards and guidelines

Accountability:

Execution of quantitative and qualitative market research projects across a range of brands and therapy areas:

o Jointly shaping market research requests with business partners

o Selection of the appropriate methodology and techniques

o Creating appropriate briefing documents

o Evaluating and selecting the best agency after a competitive pitch process

o Facilitating business partner and brand team input to the project

o Ensuring adherence to best practice market research techniques as defined by the ABPI/BHBIA code including managing the GSK medical research sign-off process

o Working with external agencies to create compelling summaries and associated recommendations for each piece of research conducted

o Follow up of research results with business partners and brand teams to ensure commercial implementation and demonstrable impact

o Attending brand team meetings as appropriate to present findings and recommendations

o Working in consultation with business partners to provide high quality market research input to therapy aligned global research, ensuring that outputs add value and satisfy UK needs

o Maintaining a high level of capability in emerging market research techniques and methodologies

o Maintaining an awareness of other data sources that may be used to compliment, validate or substitute for primary adhoc market research eg patient, sales, prescription data

o Maintaining a good level of understanding of external providers to aid in agency selection

o Providing consultation and direction in the allocation of brand team market research budgets

Key Capabilities:

Basic Requirements:

A good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the specific requirements related to conducting pharmaceutical market research

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent project management skills

High capability to prioritise multiple competing workstreams

Excellent quantitative and qualitative research and analytical skills

Ability to rapidly gain understanding and credibility in a brand/therapy area

A desire to embrace innovation uncovering new methodologies, data sources and new ways of working to deliver customer and market insights

Capable of creating and delivering recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative information

Preferred Requirements:

BHBIA ethic and guidelines training and BHBIA adverse event reporting training

Market research agency experience/Pharma company market research experience

Specialist Knowledge:

Deep understanding and application of a wide range of market research techniques
