Description

A government department in Melbourne seeks the services of a Quality Test Director who will lead the Quality function for the Payments Delivery Capability (PDC) project and provide governance and over-sight.

(i) Creation of a Testing Strategy for PDC Program
(ii) Creation of Environment Management Plans
(iii) Ensure Quality Standards including Acceptance Criteria are properly in-place and monitored
(iv) Drive and ensure the creation of Testing Reporting and continuous improvement
(v) Custodian of the Requirements Management and Traceability for PDC Program
(vi) Provide direction and governance over Testing Automation

Essential skills and experience

1. 10+ years testing experience
2. Relevant tertiary or industry qualification (eg ITIL, ISTQB, CAT)
3. Experience independently developing processes, strategies, tools and frameworks for testing
4. Experience reviewing and implementing improvement to strategy and processes
5. Understanding and Experience with Agile Development, Dev Ops
6. Demonstrable experience managing and leading teams
7. Experience/understanding of financial services sector (desirable) with experience testing systems within these sectors (highly desirable)
8. Demonstrable experience across the following testing disciplines and supporting technologies: Test automation, Performance/load/stress, Accessibility, Interoperability, System, Functional, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance
9. experience using JIRA
10. Well-developed organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise and manage tasks to meet agreed service standards
11. Excellent problem solving, problem management and analytical skills
12. Proven ability to build relationships, communicate effectively and to influence a variety of stakeholders including programme executives, project managers, technical staff and business partners/customers
13. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to develop reports, analyse & interpret outputs and initiate or recommend appropriate action

Desirable skills and experience

1. Exposure to Payments and to Financial Services would be an advantage
2. The ability to quickly gain expertise in complex business systems whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail
3. In-depth knowledge and experience of the System Development Life Cycle and service management principles
4. Mature understanding of desktop technology and ICT infrastructure in a large, diverse & complex environment

The role requires the candidate to be an Australian Citizen and hold Baseline clearance prior to commencement or the ability to obtain one.

Contract period - ASAP to with options to extend at the departments discretion
