Description

Scientist with profound Downstream Process Development knowledge wanted for our Basel based client in the pharmaceutical sector.

Your experience/skills:
  • MSc in Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering or equivalent education
  • Prior experience as a Scientist in Downstream Process Development with proficiency in developing unit operations for the purification of biopharmaceuticals, such as chromatography, filtration and ultrafiltration
  • Ability to apply biochemistry and biochemical engineering principles to process development problems
  • Profound knowledge of protein and instrumental analytics like HPLC, ideally in an industry setting
  • Strong communication, presentation and scientific/technical writing skills
  • Languages: fluent English both written and spoken


Your tasks:
  • Working in a team of scientists and being responsible for the development and scale-up of purification processes and related technologies for GMP manufacturing of a wide diversity of protein pharmaceuticals
  • Managing the development of separations such as chromatography, filtration and ultrafiltration
  • Defining and performing experiments and supportive analytics to address challenges arising in early-stage development projects
  • Planning, designing and performing experiments to arrive at scientifically sound conclusions and well-supported recommendations to project teams, while making optimal use of available resources
