Description

Our direct, Fortune 500 client in Colorado Springs is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to work on a fast-paced, Agile development team! This BSA will be assigned to an exciting and challenging initiative involving multiple, disparate data sources; the goal is to transform raw data into a stucture that can be used for analysis and reporting. This is a fast-paced Scrum team, so experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is highly desired.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Applies industry-accepted business analysis techniques to deliver efficient and effective requirements that enable delivery of new and/or improved solutions
Plans, elicits, prioritizes, analyzes, models, documents, and manages business requirements, diverse in complexity and scope, and translates them into understandable terms used in high level and detailed requirements and/or story cards
Facilitates requirement review sessions to ensure work product is comprehensive and adheres to documentation standards, methodologies and regulatory standards, prioritizes, organizes, documents, model, and analyze business requirements, diverse in complexity and scope, and translates them into understandable terms used in high level, detailed requirements, and/or story cards
Assesses the current state, defines needs and validates the solutions that deliver value to stakeholders
Accountable for articulating the business needs and applying industry-accepted tools and techniques that result in efficient and effective requirements that enable development of new and/or improved solutions
Expected to use TFS and follow standard practices (ie: Acceptance Criteria in Given-When-Then format) to elicit, prioritize, organize, document, model, and analyze business requirements, diverse in complexity and scope, and translates them into understandable terms used in high level, detailed requirements, and/or story cards
Facilitates design review sessions with developers and subject matter experts to determine which solutions best meet the business need
Defines business problems, business needs, objectives, costs, benefits, risks, dependencies and scope through research and analysis during high level planning, execution deployment and closing
Identifies dependencies that may require scope changes

Required:
Familiarity with writing story cards, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Ability to understand and document data warehousing requirements
Willingness to be flexible in ambiguous situations as scope is defined
Collaboration skills to gain buy in/agreement across multiple stakeholder s business, developers, and testers for requirements.
Understanding of Star Schema warehouse or ability to pick this up quickly
Ability to document High level story cards in TFS
Ability to drive out lower level business requirements and document as ETL transformations
Ability to collaborate effectively with Business SME, Data Architect, Developers and Testers
Some familiarity with Scrum or iterative development
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders within Business, IT and external partners
Intermediate MS Office skills, with special attention to Excel
Ability to present technical concepts and findings to the appropriate audience

Plusses:
Experience with Data projects/Data Warehouse developers
Experience with SCRUM/Agile Teams
Experience writing story cards for larger teams
