Basic qualifications:

Educated to degree level

4+ years of experience with SAP modules in area of subject-matter expertise

Familiarity with SAP data tables and fields in area of subject-matter expertise

Good written English, presentation and reporting writing skills

An ability to confidently communicate across many levels of the organisation

Preferred qualifications:

An accounting qualification.

A high-level of competence in master data analysis and database concepts, with experience of data profiling and data quality.

Effective communication of relevant knowledge through consultative skills

Experience of working in corporate organisations

Experience as a superuser, or in a functional support role, managing ad hoc user support

Scope:

The R2R Operational Data SME will be assigned responsibility for one or more of the following R2R master data objects. The objects will be reassigned between SMEs over time. The list of objects will be subject to change over time.

The role is within the R2R Centre of Excellence team, part of the Enterprise Data Management Organisation (EDMO).

Job Purpose:

To sustain and improve the health and quality of the R2R master data objects in the company's ERP systems by providing effective data standards and data management processes

To monitor the data quality and service performance achieved using the standards and processes, using the results:

To deliver exception management, and continuous improvement, to manage and reduce data quality issues and risks, in order to sustain and improve the quality of data

To ensure that service issues and risks are managed and reduced, in order to sustain and improve the optimum service delivery

To provide expert advice and explanation for R2R Data standards and R2R Data management processes where they impact data migrations and BAU (Business As Usual)

To communicate with a range of individuals and groups within the company, including migration projects, Local Operating Company (LOC) Finance, Global Process Owners (GPO), Core Business Services (CBS), and Offshore Shared Services (OSS)

Accountability and Responsibility:

Accountable for the data standards and data processes for R2R master data objects in ERP systems that sustain and improve data quality

Responsible for ensuring that the data quality monitoring rules in place govern effectively how the data standards are applied for each object, and for identifying additional rules where gaps exist

Responsible for documenting the data standards and quality rules, and maintaining the data definitions, working with other EDMO teams as required

Responsible for identifying and investigating continuous improvement opportunities in the data standards, data quality rules, and data maintenance processes for each R2R master data object in GSK's single instance of SAP (ERP SI), working with other SMEs, LOC and CBS Data Stewards, LOC Finance teams, Communities of Practice, and other Data Management teams as required

Responsible for analysing diverse business data sources, to further understand R2R data uses and management, to support the continual review of existing data and processes, and to support the management of data via the EDMO's shared data dictionary

Accountable for the delivery of Data Quality Metrics

Responsible for defining the data quality metrics and target levels for the relevant data objects, working with business users as appropriate

Responsible for providing periodic visual metrics to stakeholder groups, including: LOC and CBS Data Stewards, EDMO Internal Service Reviews, Global Process Owners, Operational Data Steering Group, etc.

Responsible for providing a data verification service for data migrations of R2R data objects, comparing prepared migration data to the standards and quality rules

Accountable for ensuring corrective actions to remediate bad data are understood and taken by the appropriate data requester or data steward

Responsible for reporting and explaining required corrective actions to BAU data requesters or stewards

Responsible for reporting and explaining required corrective actions to data migration analysts and leads

Responsible for complying with appropriate controls identified by the EDMO management team to ensure data management processes are compliant with regulatory requirements

Key Tasks:

Review and advice about change activities that impact data documentation and governance, wherever the change originates from (eg STPs (Situation/Target/Proposal documents), Business Requirements, Change Requests, etc)

Ensure that required change is understood and captured on a timely basis, so that the data standards and processes remain fit for purpose.

Review, analyse and if necessary, challenge localisation requirements (legal/fiscal) where Data Quality and/or data maintenance processes are impacted.

Promote quality improvement processes amongst stakeholders in business teams and data management service teams.

Provide data verification support where projects provide migration data loads, to identify issues and prompt correction

Maintain existing Operating Procedures and Training Materials for Data quality and Data maintenance processes, working with the GPO (Global Process Owner) team where appropriate
