CONTRACT Oracle Expert required for a leading retail company on an initial 6-month contract in Venlo, Netherlands.

Location: Venlo, Netherlands

Length: 6 months initial

Rate: Depending on experience

Skills and Experience:

  • Oracle knowledge: thoroughly understands the functionality of the assigned Oracle ERP or EPM modules (their working as well as the Office Depot-specific configurations); has clear understanding of the other modules that are installed; understands all functional dependencies between Oracle modules as well as to other systems
  • Business knowledge: has thorough understanding of the assigned business process, the practices of the business, and how the assigned Oracle modules support in this
  • End-to-end thinker: is inquisitive and understanding of up- and downstream processes within and outside the assigned process area and can understand the impact of changes in one process/module on other processes and modules
  • Stakeholder manager: is able to involve and motivate others to support in solving issues and can work together with IT, Oracle, the business
  • Inquisitive: is motivated to learn fast and a lot on both the operational business processes and the Oracle Cloud for Finance modules
  • Problem solver: ensures that solutions are designed to be sustainable to prevent recurring ussies, and influences and involves the right stakeholders to engage in a improvement initiative

Key Responsibilities:

2nd and 3rd line support

  • Maintains the business processes in the assigned Oracle modules
  • Provides 2nd line support to the business
  • Logs Service Requests (SRs) and works together with Oracle for 3rd line support

Business change/continuous improvement

  • Analyses and tests new functionality for Oracle and proposes to the business (in alignment with the Product Owner and Technical Expert) whether to use it
  • Translates business requirements into Oracle (re)configurations and adjustments
  • Set up and maintain (transaction) approval rules for the process area
  • Works together with BPOs and BPEs in order to determine business requirements to the system
  • Aligns with other process areas to ensure that up- and downstream and cross-modular impact is taken into account

Technical support

  • Supports the Technical Oracle Expert in planning new patches/releases, maintaining environments, performing regression tests, and integrations
  • Run standard Oracle audit reports and initiates action regarding assigned modules and process areas

Purpose of the role:

Develops a deep business understanding of his/her process area and included modules in order to ensure that Oracle ERP/EPM optimally serves the business. Supports the business in determining the required changes, aligns with other process areas to ensure that up- and downstream and cross-modular impact is taken into account and well-managed, and translates business requirements into Oracle (re)configurations and adjustments. Works together closely with the Business Process Owners and Business Process Experts to prioritise work. Main stakeholder is the business, mainly represented by BPOs, BPEs and other SMEs.
