Work with the Financial Reporting Manager (ViiV) to provide:
Accounting and reporting services to the ViiV management team by creating the ViiV group consolidated actual results, analysis and internal reporting
ViiV's consolidated Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash flow
Quarterly US GAAP principle statements for the minority shareholder in line with the contractual requirements
Ad-hoc reporting information requirements for ViiV management
Group Consolidation, Analysis and Reporting
Prepare and post adjustments to the entities submissions to accurately reflect the ViiV statutory reporting requirements
Prepare and post centrally held consolidation journals relating to ViiV Healthcare
Prepare the Primary financial statements, detailed analysis and notes for ViiV management approval and sign off
Maintain strong communication with ViiV management team to explain the results and understand future operations
Close liaison with the GSK - Actuals team to understand the GSK consolidation integrity and process issues and how they impact on the ViiV consolidation
Maintain communication with the Regional/above country and corporate finance staff in regard to all aspects of monthly financial reporting
Provide cover to the Financial Reporting Manager (ViiV) role in acting as an interface with internal and external auditing activities regarding the Group's sub-consolidation
Complete the analysis and elimination of intercompany profit for the sub-consolidation
Preparation of Statement of Recognised Income and Expense (SORIE)
Preparation for the accounting of other movements in reserves and analysis of equity
Complete the roll-forward and the validation of opening balances
Validation of system generated translation exchange
Work with the Financial Reporting Manager (ViiV) to ensure intercompany reorganisations are accounted for correctly and movements in net equity are properly explained
Promote and initiate process improvements in all areas (Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow preparation, analysis and documentation)
ANNUAL
Preparation of working schedules to support specific notes in the ViiV Healthcare Annual Report
Completion of specific notes in the ViiV Healthcare Annual Report
AD-HOC ISSUES
Involvement in ad-hoc projects as required
Assist in maintaining ViiV process documentation and ensure timely updates for any process changes
SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE
Qualifications/Minimum Required (Education/Experience/Competencies)
- Educated to Degree Level.
- Qualified accountant.
- Exhibit competence in Financial Accounting; preferably including experience of consolidations
- Understanding of current accounting standards ideally as they apply to consolidations
- Accuracy/attention to detail/integrity in producing results
- Logical thinking to identify unusual results and trends
- Assist in the delivery of continuous improvement in reporting cycles and quality of information.
- Challenge existing accounting and analysis processes to ensure they provide high quality information on a timely basis
- Results focus, planning & prioritising, meeting deadlines and delivering results
