Description

Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and perform when required Quality Control Plans in conjunction with Manufacturing Instructions
  • Prepare and support Quality Inspection Instructions specific to each work area and product type
  • Prepare and perform audits to insure that procedures and instructions related to the QMS are adhered to
  • Perform random Quality checks on the shop floor of critical characteristics as identified in manufacturing control plans
  • When required, provide support to Purchasing for evaluation of new suppliers, or continuous improvement activities of existing suppliers
  • Visit suppliers and customers to investigate non-conformance issues
  • Be able to lead/support investigations of non-conformances and all responses using problem solving techniques
  • Work with Quality Inspectors to ensure quality instructions are followed and documented in manufacturing
  • Prepare as and when required Quality Plans
  • Work as part of a Project team to ensure they follow Quality procedures and processes acting as the needs of the customer
  • Quality Responsibilities

  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities related to product, processes, and quality systems
  • Identify and record any problems related to product, process, or quality system
  • Initiate, propose, or provide solutions through designated channels
  • Verify, or participate in the verification of, implemented solutions
  • Control further processing or delivery of non-conforming product until the non-conformity has been corrected
  • Represent the needs of the customer in internal functions related to the Quality System
  • Skills Required

  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with subcontractors, engineering staff, project staff and customer representatives
  • Ability to record and organize all necessary documentation within the Quality Management System to maintain control
  • Ability to communicate clearly and exercise judgement
  • Ability to coordinate and manage inspection staff and inspection and testing at sub-contractors
  • Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years in QC/QA
  • Previous experience in an engineering environment or relevant industry sector
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Preferably have experience in auditing
  • Familiar with the use of Quality tools and techniques (RCA, 8D, 5 Why, PFMEA)
  • Understand ISO 9001 quality standards
  • Be able to read and understand technical drawings
  • Desirable:

  • BS EN 9102 First Article Experience
  • Exposure to CNC Machining
  • Exposure to Assembly Integration & Test
  • NPI process and controls
  • APQP Experience
