Job Role

The role is created to deliver the pilot for controls testing centralization for one market within Europe. During the pilot, we are looking to test controls performed locally by a centralized team in a remote manner, engaging with local finance teams as well as the third party testing team, analysing results of the testing centrally and providing assurance to local management on the effectiveness of their control environment, including analysis of root causes of control deficiencies and provision of adequate mitigation actions that ensure mitigation of any financial reporting risks.

Based on the initial planning with the local finance team and understanding of the local finance operations, a pilot testing plan will be defined in advance of the year-end SOX testing cycle. The risk analyst Controls Testing Centralization project role will deliver the pilot testing as per the plan, and evaluate the success of the testing pilot to incorporate any learnings in the year end plan for SOX testing and to produce key success factors that will be used to define a standard approach for subsequent markets in scope of this project. The risk analyst Controls Testing Centralization project role will supervise the outsourced team execution of the testing plan during the testing pilot and during the year end SOX testing cycle to ensure adequate testing progress, adequacy of testing results and quality of testing documentation, analysis of control deficiencies and observations with local teams to ensure adequate remediation and address any issues or escalations during the testing cycle. The risk analyst Controls Testing Centralization project role is also responsible for reporting status of testing, results and pilot learnings to the Controls Testing Centralization Project Manager (PMO) role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engage with local compliance team to acquire adequate understanding of local operations re. controls performance, processes and systems and control owners, to facilitate the delivery of the pilot testing plan and support both the local management and third party testing team during the testing pilot and year-end testing.

2. Deliver the pilot testing plan for the market assigned as per the plan and derive key learnings for the planning of the year-end testing as well as identify critical success factors to develop a standard approach for lift&shift of local controls testing activities to the central team for future markets

3. Following the pilot, plan the year-end testing plan for SOX reporting for the market assigned

4. Monitor testing execution by the third party to ensure adequate progress, adequacy of testing results and quality of their testing documentation, analysis of control deficiencies and observations with local teams to ensure adequate remediation.

5. Engage with the local team to address and resolve any operational issues or escalations during the testing pilot on both sides to ensure successful execution of the testing within the agreed timelines.

6. Provide regular updates to the FS Risk Manager EMEA/UK role and to the FS Risk Management Director on the progress of the pilot and testing, and raise any significant issue that require their attention.

7. Provide regular updates to the Controls Testing Centralization project manager (PMO) responsible for the overall management and coordination of the program for all markets.

Ideal Candidate

- Degree in Finance/Accounting and professional post qualification, ideally with one of the following qualifications: CA, CIA, CPA and equivalent, ACA, ACCA, CIMA

- The job holder should have in depth experience of Finance, Accounting and Auditing processes, preferably in a multinational environment. Should have knowledge in SAP finance-related modules, and also experience in conducting process risk assessments. Ability to communicate effectively to and influence senior management is required.

- Accounting and project management experience, good knowledge of SAP systems, strong communication and influencing skills in English. Full working fluency in German language is essential, additionally French and/or Spanish language would be beneficial.
