Our client is a highly regarded International Financial Services and Fund Management Company based in the centre of Dublin. Following a recent merger with another company, our client has grown substantially and is in the process of acquiring a much larger IT Infrastructure. They now have an immediate requirement for a Solution Manager - Infrastructure to lead this transformation.

The Solution Manager - Infrastructure will lead all required technical resources, (including vendors and suppliers) in the delivery of services to 300 users across 7 sites globally. Services that will be delivered include (But are by no means limited to) desktop services, email services, file services, voice services, office computing and networking. The Solutions Manager will also have responsibility for the business architecture, technology solutions and delivery model(s) required to deliver these services. He or She will become the single point of contact for the parent company for the duration of this project.

Responsibilities:

  • Take a leading role in the design and implementation of the overall solution strategy
  • Define the requirements for all internal and external (Outsourced) service providers
  • Communicate the solution model to all stakeholders and solution team members
  • Ensure appropriate Apex management sign off at required stages (CIO, CTO, COO)
  • Work closely with the transition project management team to align the solution plan with the overall transition plan
  • Manage all solution related assumptions, issues, and risks and ensures that these are cascaded to the project management team
  • Ensure that the solution allows for scalability and takes into account Apex future growth and expansion plans
  • Co-ordinate input from resources, suppliers and contractors
  • Manage all dependencies with other work steams (HR, Legal, Compliance etc)
  • Provide solution deliverables within specified time, budget and quality.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in leading technical teams in M&A projects with tight timelines
  • Good technical understanding of desktop services, network services, and support services, and the ability to bring together components into an overall solution
  • Good understanding of the market and what solution components can be outsourced.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • be able to lead discussions with vendors to assess solutions and make decisions
  • be able to lead the delivery of some of the technical streams where required
  • Good Project management skills, ideally certified to PRINCE2, PMP levels
  • Good Architecture experience, ideally in EA with certification in any of the following - TOGAF, Zachman Framework, Archimate, ITIL, COBIT
