We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Global Communications team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

HSBC has hundreds of thousands of alumni and facilitating a re-connection with them provides the opportunity to reinforce HSBC's reputation and demonstrate its commitment to former colleagues.

HSBC Alumni was launched at the end of 2017 to strategically engage HSBC leavers. With over 8000 members already registered from over 100 countries, the role holder will lead be part of a small team responsible for the design, delivery and management of a global programme to strategically engage existing members and to attract new members (Alumni, retirees and existing employees).

The role is diverse and encompasses end to end delivery of propositions, campaigns and communications to meet KPI's. There is a requirement to understand the Alumni audience and influence the wider business to consider the potential reach of the network. The role will work with countries to support them on the delivery of their local alumni initiatives, in addition to supporting the global communications stream for Alumni.

The role requires an understanding of developing and delivering a content runway along with the ability to review and appraise content and adapt to ensure relevance to the target audience.

The role requires the ability to influence and communicate confidently with stakeholders and agencies/vendors. There is also a requirement to be conversant with the use of social media channels to optimise reach, along with a good understanding of data analytics to monitor success criteria and engagement with the Alumni audience.

The role will also be required to advise and support local markets and business lines on events, communications and other engagement channels to drive the success of the Alumni programme and it's global objectives.

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • A proven track record in managing and implementing communication plans (employee and external)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to collaborate and influence varying stakeholder groups
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organisational and project management skills
  • Good understanding of social media
  • Experience in delivering campaigns and good understanding of marketing
  • Event management support experience
  • Ability to analyse data and form recommendations based on this
  • Basic understanding of online design and usability
  • Ability to take initiative and challenge the status quo
  • Energy, enthusiasm and creativity
  • Strong team player
