Market Research Manager - High Wycombe

To work alongside the Business Analytics team to provide integrated business insight to the brand team and Company, leading to informed and robust business decisions, delivering actionable recommendations and contributing to competitive advantage. Commission research to provide customer and market insights for UK brand teams to develop strategy and plans and assess effectiveness of promotional effort. For nominated brand or therapy area, commission and co-ordinate primary market research to deliver insights and recommendations based upon the integration of all relevant data sources.

Key Role Activities

  • Analyse market and competitor intelligence and provide market and customer insight and communicate recommendations to brand teams and senior leadership with an appropriate level of detail.
  • CVT/Functional Network Engagement
  • Prepare brand MR plans and manage MR budgets for UK in conjunction with the CVT to reflect the evolving needs of the business.
  • Act as functional lead for market research within the CVT, proactively delivering objective analysis and constructive engagement
  • Engage with BI functional network (Business analytics, EMEA) to consolidate insights from multiple data sources and leverage EMEA wide research for use in the UK Compliance
  • UK PRP approval and enabling local teams to benefit from Global/EMEA research results
  • Ensure that all MR taking place in the UK is conducted according to all relevant codes of conduct and SOPs. This includes all Global and EMEA projects, plus MR originating from other departments eg HEMAR, Communications etc that requires approval by PRP.
  • All projects to be fully approved and fully documented in a timely manner - 100% compliance is required with no deviations.
  • Documentation to be audit ready' at all times.
  • Commission primary MR, write clear and comprehensive briefing documents, make final selection of agency based on cost, value, methodology and expertise, manage projects to deliver research on time and to budget
  • Lead company wide market research projects and/or be the subject matter lead for the UK (for example for compliance, in-call effectiveness, EMEA trackers) in addition to brand related responsibilities
  • Provide MR support to customers (eg HCPs, Trusts, Patient Advocacy Groups) on an ad-hoc basis in alignment with the CVT and Patient Engagement & Advocacy Managers Key Line Management Activities (where applicable)
  • This role may have direct reports where required by the department & in line with development plans
  • Conduct formal performance and career conversations with all direct reports according to the J&J 5 conversations framework to fully understand career aspirations, set SMART people and business goals and leadership commitments and appropriate development objectives
  • Regularly coach/mentor all direct reports
  • Provide/resource training provision to meet development needs of line report/s
  • Conduct recruitment interviews/assessments as required
  • Check that all direct reports have completed required compliance training including HCC, Drug Safety & complaints within 1 month of joining the company and annually thereafter

Essential Technical Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Knowledge of British Healthcare Business Intelligence Association, Framework for Market Research.
  • Knowledge of appropriate agencies suited to specific market research.
  • Technical knowledge about market research; qualitative, quantitative, questionnaire design, bias, sample size, appropriate technique to achieve research objectives.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements for UK market research projects
