Description

The Senior Compliance Assurance Officer will be responsible for overseeing risk based compliance assurance across the UK business in line with the Compliance Assurance Plan.

This is in line with the Global Compliance Management Program and the UK&I Risk, Legal and Compliance Organisational Goals. They will assist management in the development, review and implementation of a risk-based Compliance Assurance Program, ensuring that the programme covers areas of highest compliance risk and areas with potential to cause consumer detriment. They will specifically be responsible for Assurance Plan within the programme.

The Senior Officer will identify, assess, report and contain compliance risk through the implementation and execution of Thematic Reviews and corresponding control testing. The Senior Officer will support the Compliance Assurance Manager in delivering Assurance results to Senior Leadership and agreeing actions.

The Senior Officer will have specific objectives of reviewing and providing assurance of the third party programme. As part of this the role there will be a focus on driving good consumer outcomes through recommendations from consumer outcome based Assurance. The delivery good consumer outcomes and positive conduct is at the heart of the Assurance work.

Key Result Areas

* Oversee assigned compliance reviews in accordance with the Compliance Assurance Programme.
* Evaluate the scope and testing approach for compliance reviews the team develops to ensure that they are fit for purpose and in accordance with established department standards.
* Build and execute compliance Assurance Reviews which assess the effectiveness of compliance controls.
* Provide input in to the risk assessment of business units for inclusion in their first line monitoring programmes
* Maintain a broad knowledge of the business and regulatory framework in which operates.
* Maintain an organized and accurate system of records designed to keep management informed of key performance indicators and deliverable dates.
* Manage the execution of reviews by working with the team to ensure that schedules are met and that any issues are escalated appropriately
* Support the Assurance team by training, developing less experienced team members.
* Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with other second line and third line of defence functions to enable effective planning and sharing of findings.
* Contribute to all projects that require input from Compliance Assurance.
* Support the organization as subject matter experts in Compliance Assurance.
* Develop a programme of third party assurance using various proven methods of assurance
* Prepare and complete onsite visits to assess third parties with minimal support
* Develop and support the Assurance team with their roles in third party reviews
* Use of Issue Management System (Archer) to maintain an organised and accurate system of records designed to keep management informed of key performance indicators and deliverable dates Key Interactions.

Required Experience

* Knowledge of the generic operational functions and compliance requirements of a Credit Reference Agency
* An understanding of the regulatory requirements of a Credit Reference Agency is preferred but not essential
* Experience of working in a compliance or audit function in an FCA regulated firm
* The ability to support the Compliance Assurance Manager in the development of the annual assurance plan
* A broad and developed understanding of providing Compliance Assurance in various topics, relating especially to third parties providing various services
* ICA certification is desired
* The ability to understand and interpret various laws, regulations and policies
* Must have superior written, verbal and presentation skills
* Must have strong strategic, investigative and analytical skills - inquiry, analysis, interviewing and testing
* Must have a high degree of proficiency in organization, planning and project management
* Must have the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and demonstrate a track record for completing work in a timely and organized fashion
* Ability to work well in a team, understanding others and having influence
* Proven experience working with Excel and developing and maintaining various analyses and reporting tools.
* Excellent attention to detail
* Must be pragmatic with strong problem solving skills
* The ability to make decisions based on subjective information
