Harvey Nash are now inviting candidates to apply for the position of Finance Manager for a 3- 6-month contract role in Edinburgh. As this role is working within the public-sector candidates must have a valid Basic Disclosure Check.
The Role
To be the main Financial Advisor for our clients designated directorate providing specialist financial advice. To guide and advise budget holders on the management of resources at their disposal through the provision of professional advice. To analyse data to provide information for the budget holder. To prepare sound Business Cases, in some instances, project managing input from staff both internal and external.
Experience Required
- Experience of providing specialist financial knowledge, professional advice and financial guidance to Senior members of staff using expertise and knowledge of financial regulations, policy and developments.
- Holding regular meetings with budget holders to ensure that they are fully aware of their financial obligations, the current financial position and forecast of their respective units, and to assist in the effective management of resources.
- Detailed analysis of intricate financial trends involving many streams of data, forecasting of strategic and operational financial expenditure using a wide range of data and scenarios including the design and formulation of complicated Excel spreadsheets.
- Develop and advise on multi-faceted business plans including drawing up financial analysis, scenarios and sensitivity analysis.
- Candidates must have public sector experience
