Purpose of the role:

Within this newly established division, the Communications role is positioned as a key role within the Business Services COO team. The role holder will be responsible for helping the COO team to set the communications direction of the division and engaging with stakeholders to translate this into effective global communication plans.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • The individual will provide tactical and strategic support for the COO team whilst acting as a representative for Business Services across GBM and the broader HSBC business.
  • The role holder will ensure that communications are managed proactively and effectively facilitating both senior management decision dissemination and also ensuring consistent and appropriate communication is undertaken.
  • Engage with the central communications team and ensure that all information delivered is consistent, necessary and in line with business strategy.
  • Understanding of the Global group business and market landscape to enable the execution strategy to be well defined.
  • Plan and prepare townhalls and other content which is aimed at informing the business area of necessary information.

Knowledge and Experience Required for the role:

  • Proven communications professional with SME in Financial Services.
  • Strong knowledge and focus on Data, Platforms and Technology domains is required for this role.
  • Deep experience in multi month/year project launches
  • Ability to prioritise work with competing demands to successfully deliver services to agreed levels in a diverse changing environment.
  • Strong relationship management capability, managing multiple personas across various business areas.
