Description
Management Accountant urgently required for our Newcastle based Government client on a 3 month initial contract + possible extensions.You will be responsible for system of financial control across projects, ensuring processes are in place to monitor contractor spend and identify risks to budget before they happen. Also, you will be responsible for cash flow management and accounting for programme funding, including both EU and domestic funding schemes. You will be required to work with budget holders in ensuring the business understands the financials to make good commercial decisions and drive down costs. Also, to ensure a shared understanding of cost drivers with budget holders and use this data to produce evidence based forecasts.
The ideal candidate will be qualified with; CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA, or equivalent. It would also be an advantage if you have prior experience of accounting in the public sector and within an agile project environment. It is required that you have an understanding of Oracle and Financial Systems as well as a high level of IT skills (excel to intermediate level as a minimum).
