Role: Digital Technical Architect
Daily Rate: Negotiable (inside IR35)
Length of contract: until May 2022
Location: Corsham
SC clearance required prior to starting the role

Our client is a large public sector body that works with in the MOD. They are currently recruiting for a number of Digital Technical Architects to work in the innovation team.
The team the successful candidates work in:
a. Lead on the development of a Defence 5G strategy
b. Engage pan-Defence to understand and inform 5G ambition
c. Establish and agree fundamental Defence use cases for 5G
d. Inform Defence Digital reference and solution architectures
e. Cohere existing/emerging FLC 5G plans
f. Coordinate and lead MOD engagement with other Departments, incl. DCMS
g. Engage NCSC to adopt guidance on 5G technology security and assurance
h. Coordinate MOD engagement with UK 5G testbeds
i. Inform Cap C4ISR capability planning activity
j. Direct and facilitate exploitation of Dstl 5G research
The post holders will be bridging the gap between the technical and non-technical. They will be able to translate technical concepts relating to software engineering, delivery management and service management so they are understood by all.

. Governance. You can understand technical governance and participate in or deliver the assurance of a service.
. Turning business problems into technical design. You can work with business and technology stakeholders to translate business problems into technical designs.
. Agile working. You know about agile methodology and can apply an agile mindset to all aspects of your work. The post holder can work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and use an iterative method and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery. You are unafraid to take risks, willing to learn from mistakes and appreciate the importance of agile project delivery for digital projects in government.
. Business analysis. You know how to investigate, analyse, visualise, articulate and solve complex problems and concepts, and make disciplined decisions based on available information.
. Business improvement process. You can identify and explore opportunities for service and business improvement. The candidate will know how to drive analysis and identify, prioritise and implement improvements and efficiencies, ensuring that the organisation derives maximum value from services
. Business modelling. You can represent real-world situations to aid the communication and understanding of different scenarios (existing, conceptual or proposed). The candidate will be able to focus on the representation of organisational processes, roles and data models and whether they can be used to represent subjects at various levels of detail or complexity.
. Digital perspective. You understand how the digital economy is changing user behaviour and the government landscape. The candidate can make informed decisions based on user needs, available technology and value for money.
. Enterprise and business architecture. You know how to maintain and constantly iterate the structures that make up a business enterprise or architecture. The candidate can embody the methods that prescribe an organisation's future state; you know how to accommodate change. You can assess current capabilities, identify and interpret business objectives, strategy and inter-relationships with people, data and processes to create an operating model.
. Methods and tools. You know how to use the most appropriate methods and tools, ensuring these are adopted and used to plan, develop, test, manage and maintain a system effectively.
. Requirements definition and management. The candidate will know how to identify, define and manage the objectives of a business.
. Testing (business analysis). You can plan, design, manage and execute reporting of tests, using appropriate testing tools and techniques and conforming to agreed process standards and industry specific regulations.
. User focus. The post holder will understand users and can identify who they are and what their needs are, based on evidence. They should also be able translate user stories and propose design approaches or services to meet those needs
