Our client is a mid-sized Asset Management company and currently has a requirement for a Finance Business Analyst to work on a number of Finance related projects. The role will sit within their IT-enabled Business Change team who are responsible for the delivery of IT Projects that support the business and operational teams. There is a strong demand for transforming the Finance departments technology platform to support growth by: increasing automation, creating systematised integrations; restructuring chart of accounts. This demand has led to a

Initial projects will include:

  • The automation of our annual report production process (using a technology solution called Workiva)
  • The scoping of a ledger replacement project (we currently use Netsuite). This will lead to a process to select and then implement a replacement system

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Running workshops with the finance team to understand and document requirements
  • run an RFP (request for proposal) process to identify and select a potential system
  • Manage third party supplier to ensure system delivery
  • Produce, then track progress against, project plan
  • identify, track and manage risks, issues and dependencies
  • Lead and track testing progress (integration testing, UAT and performance testing)
  • Become a technical and business expert on the new system

Experience Required:

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of accounting principles and processes
  • An understanding of how other teams within the organisation interact with and supply data to the finance function
  • Experience delivering transformation projects within finance functions
  • Understanding of project life cycle (from requirements gathering to implementation)
  • Previous experience in running and managing an RFP (request for proposal) process from requirements definition to vendor selection
  • Understanding user requirements and experience documenting both use cases and business processes
  • Vendor management experience
  • Asset Management, Private Equity or financial services experience is beneficial
  • Any experience of Workiva or Netsuite is desirable
  • Accountancy qualified desirable
