Our Public Sector client is looking to recruit a Project Manager on a 6 month initial contract.
You will work for an award winning weather and climate scientific organisation working on a programme of work which is focused on harnessing the weather and climate scientific expertise of UK and partner countries to strengthen the weather and climate resilience of vulnerable communities around the world.
Some of the main projects including evaluating and developing high resolutions models, developing data service and analytical skills to model output and to support development of user-led weather services and enhance impact-based forecasting.
As a Project Manager your key duties will include:
- Project planning of future phases
- Agreeing deliverables, managing budgets, monitoring resources, procurement and managing internal and external stakeholders
- Tracking benefits
- Project reporting and progress updates
- Manage risk and issues
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Prince 2 Practitioner and/or APM or equivalent experience
- Managing projects from start to finish
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Financial reporting and planning
- Experience of the procurement process including Government Frameworks/G-Cloud, Scientific expertise or meteorological knowledge are highly desirable but not essential.

The role is currently a remote home based role but as restrictions are lifted we expect a combination of remote and onsite working.
Preference will also be given to candidates who hold SC Security Clearance however those eligible to apply will be considered. You will need to obtain BPSS Clearance prior to starting which takes 2-4 weeks and also have submitted a SC Clearance Application.
Day Rate: £407.47 per day INSIDE IR35 via a umbrella company.
