Background
Our IT Delivery team is accountable for the efficient and effective delivery of projects across our whole business. We provide strong business partnerships which help us execute our short, medium and longer term plans.
About the role
In this role you will be using your project management experience and excellent leadership skills to motivate and drive teams to develop and implement successful IT Change projects for our Retail Insurance business.
As an enthusiastic and keen project manager, your ability to manage complex relationships with stakeholders during all aspects of the project, as well as maintaining strong project controls will be key. Our projects are delivered in a dynamic, agile environment using Microsoft technologies.
Your highly developed interpersonal skills and natural collaborative style will mean that you will be comfortable working with a wide range of specialist expertise, including Business Analysis, Software Engineering, Quality Assurance, Architecture and Strategy through to Programme Management Office and Governance teams.
The role will be based in Teesside although home working is currently in place. Once CV19 restrictions lift, travel to other UK locations will be required.
What will you need?
- At least 5 years' experience of Project Management involving software development, with a proven track record of successful delivery. Financial services experiences is a bonus.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience of successfully managing third parties within the context of project delivery.
- Experience of budget management.
- Experience of influencing senior stakeholders and managing without direct authority.
- Proficiency in agile principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of projects from initiation through implementation.
- Accredited at Project Management discipline (practitioner level) (eg DSDM Atern, Certified project Manager, APMP, Prince2 practitioner, MSP, ISEB)
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience and/or relevant IT qualification - preferred.
