My prestigious client is looking for a well-seasoned Project Manager from an insurance background who has Actuarial, Reserving and Finance experience. We are looking for someone who has great communication skills, someone who can challenge the status quo who has a collaborative approach to their work.

Role Purpose:

Create robust workstream and Business Unit led project plans including a breakdown of deliverables, dependencies and resourcing.

Manage production of workstream deliverables and ensure that the final deliverables meet acceptance criteria and are delivered within the required timeframe.

Ensure effective communication is in place to engage and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business and with central project leadership.

Consider business engagement and end-user impact early enough in the change life cycle in order to drive design and delivery.

Ensure project governance documents including RAID logs are updated and key risks and issues are proactively managed and escalated where appropriate in a timely manner.

Organise and facilitate meetings, including documentation of minutes/actions and actively seeking closure of actions.

Produce material for Working Groups, Workstream and Business Unit meetings.

Provide status updates to central project leadership; PMO and Business Units.

Key Accountabilities:

Support in conjunction with the Programme Manager and the senior leadership team, the long-term strategic objectives of the business.

Coordinate and manage multiple projects and workstreams across all stages from initiation through to successful delivery

Utilise recognised project governance, methodologies and reporting to manage the day to day project delivery and coordinate working groups. Monitor, assess and report on status and progress of projects and the overall portfolio of work.

Apply project controls and quality assurance on all projects

Provide regular and transparent status reporting to the Programme Manager and key business stakeholders.

Work closely with workstream leaders and working groups to create and agree on detailed project plans. Anticipate challenges and clearly communicate assumptions throughout the project life cycle.

Identify and monitor potential project risk, actively reduce the probability of the risk occurring and/or the impact should they realise. Manage issues ensuring early visibility and escalation as appropriate.

Act as a primary business interface with the internal IT function, our external technology vendors and business partners

Assist with the preparation of business cases and cost-benefit analysis to support any requests for investment that may arise.

Professional Experience:

Highly experienced project management professional with a proven track record of project management.

Solid experience working as a Project Manager in the insurance industry combined with a good understanding of underwriting, claims, finance, actuarial and reserving functions.

Experience managing senior stakeholders in delivering organisational change.

Experienced and solid understanding of varying Project Management methodologies (Prince2, MSP or a similarly qualified). Experience in using MS Office applications including MS Project or equivalent project tools

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) - ability to comfortably communicate with both technical and non-technical people at all levels and within a Matrix reporting structure

Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple competing projects and demands to ensure deadlines are met

Flexible, enthusiastic and positive "can do" attitude

Finance Experience

Strong ability to communicate clearly with, and constructively challenge, senior stakeholders to ensure that proposals are robust and feasible at all stages of scoping and delivery.

Excellent influencing skills, charismatic and able to operate through both direct and indirect lines of authority with local, group and offshore teams.

Culturally sensitive, empathic and aware. Demonstrating both high IQ and EQ.

Structured in approach and mindset but able to adapt to a fluid environment taking a pragmatic approach to ensure the best results under the conditions experienced.

Resourceful, quality-driven and able to think "outside the box".

Experience in outsourcing infrastructure as a service an advantage

Experience in Support Models and outsourced Service Contracts/Service Level Agreements

Preference will be given to candidates with financial services experience
