Our client is a leading Investment Management company and currently has a requirement Business Analyst to support the deliverables of the Finance Workstream of the programme structured to comply with the Investment Firm Directive for Central Europe and the Investment Firm Prudential Regime for the UK. The role will report to the UK Financial Controller and will be accountable to the IFD Programme Manager. The role involves working with the programme, finance, operations, technology, treasury, risk and compliance teams to deliver and embed reporting changes.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be required to write a clear set of requirements working with Finance, Operations and IT; to bridge the gap in understanding so that the workstream to accelerate the pace of analysis and solution design.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Provide an initial specification of data requirements for extraction and storage
  • Validate the regulatory requirements against the existing business requirements and ensure traceability
  • Identify and document data ownership/governance to provide assurance reported data is captured and calculated accurately (specific to Client Orders Handled)
  • Design and run workshops with business teams and technology
  • Specify the overall reporting process for all components of the capital calculation
  • Tactical change to be specified for Luxembourg business
  • Aid the development of the strategic solution for UK business
  • Operational readiness design and delivery. Create and amend team management artefacts, including procedures, controls, terms of reference, tool sets and record management.

Following this initial work and when the full impact assessment of the FCA second consultation paper is complete an assessment of other deliverables and responsibilities will be determined. There is a possibility of continued support of Finance but also redeployment to work with Risk on their Pillar 2 and Pillar 3 deliverables and revisions to the risk management framework.

Experience Required:

  • Substantial experience working in a business analyst, project and programme management or business transformation capacity.
  • Experience of financial services regulation and the implications to regulated firms
  • Experience of regulatory initiatives and their impacts on investment managers and distributors - with regulatory prudential reporting preferred
  • Ability to digest complex regulatory rules and understand commercial business objectives and translate these into practical business solutions
  • Strong competency in analysis, defining business requirements and mapping out processes.
  • Experience of operating model design, and how to optimally assign people, technology, data and governance
  • Firm knowledge of control frameworks for the management and monitoring of risk
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence systems and Kanban principles is desirable
  • Strong MS Office skills including Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Word
  • Process mapping using recognised mapping methodology.
