Infrastructure Engineer (Apache Spark & HBase) - Banking - London - PAYE contract

You will have the confidence and the capability to step straight into a specialist consultancy role within one of MHC's Practice areas to provide effective and efficient solutions that support our Clients' business requirements, while working constructively with senior MHC and Client managers and other staff.
MHC are hiring a Infrastructure Engineer with strong Apache Spark & HBase experience to join us on a PAYE contract basis and join a project we are delivering for a Tier 1 Global Bank. (Initially remote, then London based).
Responsibilities:
- Review setup for the SPARK/HBASE clusters including Zookeeper, MinIO, Kerberos and other components in the Hadoop ecosystem
- Advise on best practices on setup/deployment
- Recommended stack versions (upgrades required as quite old, multiple CVEs etc)
- Monitoring/tuning/diagnostics/sizing/administration
- NFRs - HA, backup recovery, resilience/failover/recoverability as there is a disconnect between expectation and what is implemented
