Evolve IT's financial services client based in Edinburgh is looking for a Skilled Data Governance Analyst to join their Data Operations workstream on a 6-month initial contract. This is an incredible opportunity for someone to join a well-known financial services organisation and be a part of a highly successful business. This role Currently offers flexible working but working from the Edinburgh Offices Will be required as restrictions change.
The Key Remit of the Data operations Work Stream is to support the implementation of the data governance initiative within the workstream and the business. The analyst will play a key role within the workstream including establishing the data glossary, setting up data quality rules for regular monitoring, and supporting the analysis of data issues in the different business areas. They will be working with data users at different levels across the business to help them oversee their data, understand its relevance, impact, and usage. The analyst will also be working with various technical teams to coordinate the implementation of the data governance initiative.
Your Responsibilities:
- Service Delivery:
- To Develop checks and controls to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels.
- Demonstrate detailed technical understanding of data governance, software, and processes. Establish regular customer engagement and support through continuous demonstration of strong technical, business, and industry expertise.
- Know Your Customer:
- Full engagement with internal customers. Acting in a consultative capacity, provide support and guidance regarding data quality and participate in projects that involve any of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes.
- Governance:
- Drive, shape, and embed data governance policies for data management, as provided by internal frameworks and controls. Manage data governance policy, covering data usage, lineage, and distribution.
- Reporting:
- Deliver visibility and transparency on all aspects of data management for the firm through relevant and appropriate reporting, data, and record management.
- Education & Awareness:
- Expert in the field of data management, promote the role of data management and the service provided to internal customers. Driving data management profiling and awareness programs. Continuous demonstration of expertise and leadership to analysts within the team. Helping build confidence in both the data management service and the data governance policy.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Experience with implementing data governance and data quality management frameworks
- Experience with using Informatica or similar data governance/data quality software
- Familiar with SQL to query data stores
- Competent user of Excel functions
- Familiar with financial services domain
