A Senior Project Accountant with Financial Management and Forecasting is required to work on a six month contract, with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Preston
This is a Contract within the Aerospace Industry
Overview of the Project Accountant contract role
We currently have a temporary vacancy for a Senior Project Accountant within our UK finance team.
As a Senior Project Accountant, you will report to the Finance Manager and be an integral part of the Turkey project team.
This role provides a great opportunity to interact with multiple functions and stakeholders both on the Turkey TF-X program itself and within our Turkish Joint Venture, BNA. Whilst your stakeholder network will cover both the UK and Turkey, flexible working means that international travel is not mandatory for this role.
This role will give you with the ability to develop your project accounting skills as well as providing experience of a wide variety of specialist skill sets including forex hedging, joint venture accounting and financial management of an overseas office. As such it would offer an excellent development opportunity to any applicant wishing to further their careers.
Responsibilities of the Senior Project Accountant
Review and submit monthly actuals and forecasts for order intake, sales, EBIT and cash including risk and opportunity schedules. Reporting against variances and working with the project teams to ensure reliable and robust financial forecasting.
Support to the joint venture reporting and reconciliations.
Be a key point of contact to the Overseas accounting team and project teams ensuring sufficient understanding of financial issues to facilitate achievement of financial targets
Production of the CSR (Contract Status Report), IBP (Integrated business Plan), Hedge Effectiveness Reviews, Balance Sheet Reviews & Statutory Pack reporting.
Ensure robust adherence to the Finance Policies Manual, leading by example. Drive forward process improvements across both the UK and Turkey based processes, supporting internal & external audits.
To provide support to ad hoc tasks as required by the Finance Manager.
The role is based in Preston, Lancashire - commutable from Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool and Leeds
