Description

We can offer a 6-month (extendable) contract for an experienced Business Relationship Manager to join our clients expanding team, which will allow for flexible working condition but with occasional trips to London and the South East required.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation of our clients Digital Strategy by transforming the way the business utilises technology and data to improve business performance, as well as, acting as the liaison between the Digital Transformation Team and Directorates to understand the operational and development needs of the business.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop trusted partnerships with Directorates and the Digital IS Team.
  • Provide the Digital function team with insight into the strategic direction of Directorate functions (Cable Repairs, Connections, Customer Service, Control, HR, Legal, etc.) and develop capability specifications and roadmaps.
  • Create added value to Directorate functions through proactively identifying opportunities using digital technology to support our clients strategies, innovation, growth, improve competitive edge, improve services, reduce costs, and ultimately improve profitability.
  • Ensure that project/program managers of business partner projects are knowledgeable about the business partner and their objectives; engage as a project/program stakeholder, including evaluating project efforts and progress against joint strategic plans and objectives.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the how the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) model provides services to customers in the UK and develop ways to gain more relevance in customers lives using technology and be able to translate these into deliverable digital solutions.
  • Influence senior managers and process owners to ensure the development of business processes and digital solutions meet critical functional requirements. Resolve any internal conflicts and gaps between Directorates and Digital Solutions.
  • Work closely with teams in the identification of business requirements, functional design, process design and take ownership of producing business requirement documents
  • Being able to rapidly assess and select relevant technology solutions to deliver business needs in a scalable and supportable manner.
  • Keeping continuously abreast of technology advances and identifying how and when such capabilities can be used to drive digital innovation and resolve business problems.
  • Being passionate about 'how tech works' and getting 'hands-on' to develop cloud-based prototypes to rapidly prove business value and drive 'learning through action'.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ability to listen, build rapport, and credibility as a strategic partner vertically within the business unit, as well as with leadership and functional teams.
  • Strategic & logical thinker: Ability to map joint organizational vision and long-term thinking, imagination, and idea generation. Supporting the business to identify hidden opportunities by utilising a curiosity to improve working environments.
  • Energy, focus, assertiveness, and diplomacy: Knowing when to push an agenda and when to let a situation develop, rest, or advance.
  • Highly developed communication skills: Ability and comfort with working at executive levels.
  • Highly skilled and experienced at negotiating conflict and problem-solving to achieve win-win outcomes at executive levels.
  • Ability to influence and break down silos within an organization as well across organizations.
  • An outside-in focus: Outstanding end customer/consumer relationship skills.
  • Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP®) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects, based on management objectives.
