Description

I am currently recruiting for 2x product development technicians to work for a client of mine on an initial 6 month project.
Job Type: Contract (Inside of IR35)
Duration: 6 months
Location: Cambridgeshire
Rate: £18-£25 p/h
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assembly of new prototypes, so an understanding of mechanical assembly drawings is a necessity, but we are also looking for someone that can make detailed notes during "first builds" and provide documented feedback on the quality of the components the assembly process and drawings. Sometimes documentation may be at a very early stage and we are looking for tenacious individuals that will not let this prevent them from getting the job done.
  • Developing and debugging hydraulic circuits within printers, so a familiarity with ink system diagrams or hydraulic schematics will be necessary, and an appreciation of pressures, flows, valves, and how to debug fluid circuits will be required.
  • Preparing tests, attaching sensors and data loggers, and various other measurement equipment to monitor prototype performance, so a familiarity with multi-meters, oscilloscopes, thermocouples etc., is an advantage. You may be expected to create/crimp your own wiring harnesses & simple breadboard circuits so experience of crimping/soldering would be advantageous.
  • Functional testing of hydraulic and electro-mechanical sub-systems, and accurately documenting and reporting results and findings.
  • Maintaining safe and organised work areas, ensuring availability and functionality of tools & equipment, identifying continuous improvement opportunities in your daily work.

Your experience and background will include:

  • Experience in Industrial Inkjet development would be an advantage, but not required.
  • HNC/HND in engineering/manufacturing or equivalent vocational training would be advantage but not required.
  • Practical experience in light engineering. Having both mechanical and electrical assembly capabilities.
  • Computer literate. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using CAD software an advantage but not required.
  • Basic machining experience and an understanding of workshop safety an advantage.
