One of our Blue Chip Clients is urgently looking for a Quality Engineer.
For this role you can initially work remotely, but once the COVID restrictions have been lifted you will then need to spend some time in Hasselt, Belgium.

Job description summary
The Quality Engineer will be responsible to ensure the customer quality performance expectations and requirements are being effectively managed. Support the development and implementation of the quality management system. The Quality Engineer will provide quality management support, guidance and direction for continuous quality improvement within the customer. The Quality Engineer will dual report to the Factory Manager and the Site Quality Manager.
Responsibilities
Implementation of zero defect policies within the customer
Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Responsible for the pre-production approval process (PPAP).
Devises sampling procedures and designs.
Implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and assesses cost and responsibility.
Represent the quality function on technical support, in conjunction with other internal support groups regarding issues affecting manufacturing within the customer
Maintain the company's relationships with customer contacts in quality; some travel may be required
Provide coaching & training as appropriate for employees within the customer
Strong drawing comprehension skills, understanding of GD&T
Reviews quality trends. Assists in identifying root causes of problem, institutes corrective actions, and verifies effectiveness.
Interacts with customers and supplier representatives on quality issues.
Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
Lead the resolution of customer complaints by driving a team oriented problem solving methodology
Oversee document and data control, inspection standards, quality work procedures, work instructions and visual controls
Utilize APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans and SQA
Support quality improvement programs to enhance TBS/TQM to achieve zero PPM and Zero Customer Complaint performance.
Utilize appropriate statistical techniques for establishing, controlling and verifying process capabilities
Provide quality technical support for capital projects
Maintain, track and report quality performance and customer satisfaction metrics
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
3-5 years of quality engineering work experience preferably in automotive manufacturing environment
Certified internal auditor in the latest ISO 9001/IATF16949 preferred
Experience with appropriate advanced quality planning (APQP), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC) and PPAP
Certification in the key customer's preferred process audit (eg VDA 6.3) is preferred
Certified in one or more: CQE, CQA, CRE, SSGB/SSBB - preferred
Job Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Solid working knowledge of
Strong problem solving skills required
Solid working knowledge of quality standards (Customer specific requirements) and their implementation
Strong drawing comprehension skills and understanding of GD&T
CMM programming and operation experience preferred
Knowledge of manufacturing methods
Must work independently and be able to tackle opportunities head on
Ability to apply hands-on approach to leading/influencing team members
Strong mentoring, leadership, and teaching skills required"
