Programme Support Officer - INSIDE IR35

Duration: 3 months initially

Leeds city centre and remote working

The Project Support Officer will support 2 large IT divisions with their governance, control, and resource management. This is a senior role within the support staff of both transformation portfolio and programmes and will provide the essential services to ensure the smooth running of all transformation activity.

Skills required:

Industry Knowledge: APM or Prince 2 (or similar Project Management Qualification)

  • Skilled in the Microsoft office suite (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Strong planning skills and ability to prioritise work appropriately
  • Comprehensive understanding of Programme Management services, (eg risk management, planning, reporting and change control)
  • Experience of supporting administration and business processes, eg in a large programme or project management environment, and designing, setting up and implementing project administrative processes and procedures
  • Experience of working with financial budgets and forecasts within large programmes
  • An understanding of Information Security

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and maintain relationships with Project Managers, internal stakeholders including governance, assurance, resourcing and finance.

  • Manage contractor vacancies across the Portfolio.
  • Review project and programme expenditure monthly and liaise with the Director, and Project Leads and for verification and signoff.
  • Monitor and analyse financial reports relating to contractor resourcing.
  • Monitor the risks and issues register, managing escalations and follow up actions.
  • Monitor actions and decisions logs generated at the Steering Committee and Checkpoint meetings, ensuring next steps are actioned.
  • Maintain documentation and reports and guidance documentation in conjunction with Project Managers.
  • Identify and resolve operational problems, escalating more complex and difficult issues upwards to relevant members of the teams.
  • Manage the work trackers and task allocation sheets.
  • Perform key month, quarter and year-end activities linked to Opex and Capex spend against the approved budget.
  • Provide support for meetings includes setting up and programme meetings, including the recording of meeting action logs and decision logs accountability.
