Description

Network Service Architect required to work with a Government department. This is an initial 6-month contract, paying £680 per day, inside IR35, fully remote.

This is an SC Cleared requirement.

As an experienced Network Service Architect you will work within our Transformational Capability programme, and in particular within our SD-WAN implementation project for a 6 month period.

As a Service Architect, you will design and deliver services that; support business needs; reuse existing service components; are proportionate and affordable; effectively span multiple suppliers, components and support levels. You will produce comprehensive service designs, incorporating business requirements, wider standards, our department's capabilities and external suppliers.

This current expectation is that the work will be defined into 3 streams of work within our SD-WAN project, primarily
-Prime Carrier Services Supplier
-Implement & Transition
-Operate & Manage

Main day to day responsibilities will be:
*producing service designs, incorporating the business requirements wider common and organisational standards, Live Services capabilities and external suppliers. to ensure that support for the new service is comprehensive, efficient and reuses existing capability.
*developing and documenting the proposed service design for the integration and implementation of solutions, working with and across other areas of our business to ensure that the requirements are included in business cases, project plans, supplier procurements and Service Design Packages and are also aligned the organisation's architectural principles and validated through the relevant governance processes
*ensure the design documents facilitate the smooth handover of service design into transition management for the project streams so that our existing teams can transition the works in to live service
*maintaining a transition pipeline within a given Portfolio or Product area with a forward view of two years, highlighting key demands on the team and providing meaningful pipeline data on a monthly basis
*exercising strong stakeholder management skills to drive completion of a service design, including brokering decisions and bridging technical and business disputes by weighing up risk, complexity impact and deliverability
*communicating effectively to achieve project and service goals for example, presenting recommendations and the shape of the new service to senior management and boards
*Work with the project team to ensure the works reuse existing service components effectively, support and manage multiple suppliers, components and support levels and support the ongoing procurement activities of the project streams
*leading the evaluation of a new service once it has been integrated
*creating detailed plans for the integration of new services into existing architecture, considering the broader context, strategies and operating model of the organisation
*reviewing, negotiating, updating and creating Service Level and Operating Level Agreements (SLAs/OLAs)
*managing one or more Service Design and Transition Managers to complete service transition activities

Essential Skills

*You'll have a demonstrable successful track record in Service Architecture and Service Design roles in a Networks environment,
*Previous experience providing service management solutions is key - including problem solving for service design in an IT environment and navigating the complex landscapes of technologies, 3rd party suppliers (driving the procurement process), internal and cross-government teams
*Process implementation is a vital element of the role - background of working to both current standards, but also creation of process and managing and delivering complex service solutions within time, cost and quality targets, ensuring solutions are robust, resilient, and appropriately implemented, tested and documented
*anticipating and advising on future technology changes that present opportunities for the product or service
*Candidates should have multiple stakeholder management experience, including management of several suppliers within this environment communicating clearly in a language which meets the needs of different users and stakeholders through selecting the appropriate channels and formats, and managing expectations whilst adapting to stakeholders' reactions with flexibility
