The Data Analyst is responsible for identifying, analysing and documenting the business needs. Equally this role is about providing support to the business to further professionalize their MI/Analytic reporting platform, using the ESSA approach [Automate, Standardize, Simplify & Automate].
1) Translate the functional requirements into detailed design for the data transformation & training scope of the Data Platform.
2) Build the data transformation & training requirements for the ADLS in the Data Platform
3) Familiar with EDaM
About the role:
As a Data Analyst, you will gather, analyse and model data and key performance indicators to develop quantitative and qualitative business insights in an agile fashion, identifying opportunities for improved data analysis. You will also be involved in the development of processes and design reports to boost the Business Intelligence within the organisation as well as effectively process large amounts of data into meaningful information.
Accountabilities
Precisely capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements, including health, safety, security, usability, data, and supportability considerations.
Translate business requirements into functionality and assess the risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts of various solution options.
Assess and model processes, data flows, and technology to understand the bottlenecks and identify opportunities for improvement.
Create clear documentation to communicate requirements and related information; keep updated to align with the solution over the project life cycle.
Ensure traceability of requirements from business needs and requirements, through testing and scope changes, to final solution.
Create acceptance criteria and validate that solutions meet business needs through defining and coordinating testing.
Create and present compelling business cases to justify solution value and establish approval, funding and prioritisation.
Execute Data Analysis activities on projects within agreed parameters of cost, time and quality.
Understand and stay abreast of relevant architectures and technologies related to a business area.
Support stakeholder management activities including facilitation of large design sessions.
About You:
Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills. Highly experienced in communicating with the business at all levels.
Comfortable to work with global stakeholders, internally and externally.
Experience of working in a global business environment/different cultures.
Technical Skills
Experience with statistical software (R, SAS, SPSS)
Experience with SAP technologies (SAP ECC/ERP, SAP BW, SAP HANA etc.)
Experience with SQL-based technologies (eg MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Experience with data blending technology (eg Alteryx)
Experience with Microsoft or AWS data stack eg Microsoft Azure Data Lake, Hadoop (preferably with Spark), Cosmos DB, HDInsight/HBase, MongoDB, Redis, Azure Table/Blob stores etc.
Job Experience Requirements:
Experience with concepts as Data Pipelining/Data Wrangling [data collection extraction & processing]
Knowledge of the technology landscape including current and future developments and the most commonly available products and integrated solutions.
Experience with analysing the alignment between business requirements and system capabilities.
Kowledge of the Business Intelligence technologies and their relevant functions (reporting, online analytical processing, analytics, data mining, process mining, complex event processing, business performance management, benchmarking, text mining, predictive analytics and prescriptive analytics.)
Aware of the Data Management Framework & practices, understands what is required to implement them effectively.
Eexperienced with Data Quality concepts like data cleansing
Awareness of Agile Framework and its tools such as Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS)
