Junior Business Analyst

We are currently recruiting for am entry level Business Analyst to join one of our clients for an initial 12 month contract. This role will be remote initially and then based in Bracknell 2 - 3 days per week.

Our client is looking for someone they can offer training to, to become a Business Analyst. The role will be based in our client's labs, offering support to technicians and scientists.

As a Business Analyst, you will learn to act as a critical partner between R&D, IT platform teams and developers. You would be working closely with scientists to understand, capture and analyse their needs and create user stories that will drive our Agile development work.

As you develop to become a subject matter expert, you will clearly and concisely communicate needs and priorities to technical delivery teams, including architects and developers, whilst maintaining the tight link with your scientific customers.

You would be provided with training and mentoring to support your longer term personal and professional development in the field of analysis.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop as a primary point of contact between R&D and technical teams
  • Promote and actively implement Agile methodologies and internal standards
  • Prepare and facilitate ideation and requirement gathering workshops and user engagement meetings
  • Investigate operational needs, problems and opportunities in order to be able to recommend improvements, addressing business problems in an analytical manner with structured decision-making guided by the business
  • Formally capture and document requirements/user stories to represent the voice of the business, and ensure these are comprehensive, structured and technically oriented for translation into technical solutions with the development team
  • Collaborate closely with business and technical teams to manage scope and stakeholder expectations and act as a gatekeeper of changes in definition
  • Collaborate closely with other analysts to share knowledge, experience, skills and innovation across the wider IT landscape
  • Highlight and escalate risks and issues as they become evident
  • Co-ordinate, facilitate and assist in testing activities to ensure the release of new features and functionality meets the definition of done prior to release
