Solutions Manager

Are you currently on the lookout for your next role? If so, a leading client of mine is currently looking for a Solutions Manager to join their team.

Role Purpose: We are looking for a Solutions Manager within this newly formed, and fast growing, group. This position will be managing product and engineering requests that need to be delivered by the EDP technology team working closely with other stakeholders across the organization to ensure that requirements and agreed solutions meet the strategic criteria, as well as supporting the development teams in the sizing and costing efforts.

Job description:

  • Manage pipeline of incoming requests from across product, proposition and engineering
  • Review and confirm requirements are complete and fit for purpose with relevant stakeholders; bring in the Requirements Elaboration resource to support this completion if required
  • Manage the intake process, by working with stakeholders to ensure the right solutions is documented and agreed and can be sized, costed and prioritized in the relevant Development area across EDP and other product engineering partners where relevant
  • Ensure ongoing alignment with the Enterprise Architecture team to identify new capability demands that are not on the roadmap, to ensure strategic direction is not compromised
  • Ensure work agreed is scheduled to complete the delivery of E2E use case/solution and formal handover to the PMO and Delivery teams take place, with all relevant stakeholders
  • Support the delivery by ensuring the information captured as part of intake is used to help manage forward planning for resources
  • Support the forward planning of all requests in annual cycle when required
  • Support the intake of material changes of work that need to be resized and rescheduled across the development teams
  • Ensure all relevant stakeholders are actively engaged throughout the process until completion and handover

Experience/Skills required:

  • Resourceful and able to extrapolate key understandings from requirements to drive the intake process in the right direction and context
  • Attention to detail when required
  • Can work independently with stakeholders and ensure outcome can be reached in a timely manner
  • Be able to identify and gauge urgency and prioritize requests to ensure a good outcome
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Strong and confident interpersonal skills, able to build close relationships and interact with colleagues at various levels - including prior experience in supporting C-level executives
  • Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate vision and strategy into clear priorities and direction
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities with partners and stakeholders in a professional manner
  • Creativity and innovation: Continuously maintain an innovative mindset whist operating with a set of defined internal and external processes
  • Experience in managing people and processes in a complex environment.
