Our client is looking for a highly experienced Business Analyst to work within the FinOps & Vendor Management workstream within the Cloud Business Office as part of the multi-year cloud transformation program upon which we have embarked.

Our client requires someone who has experience of working jointly with Technology and Finance departments to define and manage their adoption of Cloud FinOps practices. The requirement is to ensure all Cloud costs are accurate, paid and recharged internally (in conjunction with finance and other GT teams), ensure that all assets have tagging in place, working with other cloud functions on the definition of recharge models/service-based pricing.

The role requires in-depth experience of business analysis technique including agile new ways of working and experience of working within the broader technology and business functions on successful, medium-large scale, change transformation programmes. This is a position for a passionate business analyst, and change enabler, who understands cloud, FinOps adoption and industry trends, and relishes the opportunity to oversee and implement this important workstream within a highly visible change transformation programme across the organisation.

The Team

You will be part of the Enterprise Cloud team that is comprised of two functions, the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) covering Azure and AWS Platform SRE, Classic Hosting SRE, Cloud Enablement and Cloud Infrastructure Architecture as well as the Cloud Business Office who are responsible for a number of key pillars; cloud programme management, training & knowledge management, cloud design authority, finance/billing/recharge oversight, vendor management, regulatory & compliance reporting, communications marketing and senior business stakeholder engagement.

You will work with the broader Global Technology teams such as business Delivery teams, Tech Risk, InfoSec, IPS as well as other Infrastructure functions including Procurement, legal, Finance, HR and Compliance to deliver a success cloud programme and cloud business office. You will join a highly motivated team who are solely focused on delivering a successful cloud adoption and migration programme over the next 3 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team comprising Technology and Finance staff to establish the FinOps function
  • Business analysis activities within the FinOps workstream of Cloud Programme, including data analysis, process analysis, transition planning, report/dashboard definition
  • Define and lead the workstream activities required to transform the existing on-prem re-charge process into a service-based pricing model (includes process, organisational, data and tooling changes)
  • Support the FinOps Workstream Lead in providing workstream updates into the central Cloud programme clearly articulating progress, current status, future sprint focus, key milestones, budget/finance status and forecast, and track any actions that arise through to closure
  • Establish a strong partnership between the Technology and Finance teams
  • Formulate how we structure and operate cloud finance billing & recharge working with GT business managers, CCoE and Finance to drive service-based pricing for cost transparency to both GT deliver teams as well as the business

Required knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of playing a lead role within multi-disciplinary teams comprising business analysts, business managers and business SMEs
  • Experience of delivering within large and complex technology change transformation programmes
  • A deep understanding of Agile new ways of working (Scrum, SAFe)
  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to manage in a dynamic and global environment
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across technology
  • An understanding of cloud computing business drivers and emerging technologies and trends
  • An understanding FinOps best practices and tools
  • An understanding of software development
  • Passionate about building and delivering high quality business services

Desirable knowledge and experience:

  • University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Previous experience of working in a tech finance or tech business management environment
  • Understanding of Azure and/or AWS
  • Experience of Power BI, Azure Power Platform, Tableau
