  • Identifying and facilitating development opportunities within Practice, including matching colleagues to opportunities and assignments based on their development needs, as well as their expertise.
  • Maintaining a skills Matrix to understand skills gaps and future needs, whilst using it to feed into supporting individuals with their personal development plans.
  • Facilitating knowledge transfer by moving the team from being a consumer of short-term knowledge, to industry standard, capable of meeting evolving and flexible strategic needs.
  • Partnering with Portfolio PMO to create a holistic view of the function's capacity, supply and demand to support projects.
  • Working collaboratively with other Practice Managers in the wider team to achieve consistency of colleague experience, avoiding duplication of effort and sharing of best practice.
  • Influencing through a nurturing, coaching and empowering style, underpinned by the unswerving drive to achieve.
  • Have a critical role in supporting the leadership team to create and model the right culture and environment for colleagues to thrive.
  • Consistently focus on the bank being an inclusive employer and a place where people love to work
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with stakeholders across the business

What you need to know and show

  • The ability to energetically and enthusiastically motivate colleagues to achieve, in a changing environment, as well as identify the right skills for a job, define skills gaps and mentor colleagues through their development. Please note, you do not have to have specific Architecture experience to be considered for this role.
  • Clear, straightforward and regular communication of functional and colleague-centric goals.
  • Engaging communicator who connects, inspires and leaves a lasting impression
  • You will have a background in people leadership, coaching, guiding and mentoring experience
  • Expertise in performance management, never shying away from giving feedback with clarity, empathy and proficiency.
  • Experience in identifying, interviewing and recruiting talent.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both written and in person, comfortable presenting key messages in front of a large audience.
  • The natural ability to take teams and stakeholders on the change journey, sometimes when the destination is still unclear. You'll create confidence, security and a positive working environment whilst priorities change.
  • Expertise and experience in Architecture is desirable, although not mandatory
